Calling For Heroes

The first band of the night was Nottingham based four-piece Calling For Heroes. Their sound is anthemic, melody driven Indie-Rock that draws influence from both British and American contemporary sources. Having written some excellent material with strong, catchy choruses and intelligent lyrics the band has found a direction that really works for them and shows some real potential. Live they were tight yet relaxed throughout an impressive performance that set a high standard for the other acts to follow.

and welcome to the all new Calling for Heroes website. Why? Well besides everyone getting bored with waiting for Nige to finish the old site - we basically wanted a better more interactive site that you people - the fans - can interact with.

Calling for Heroes qualify for Round 2 of Surface Unsigned Festival 2009.
Hi everyone,
Great news, Calling for Heroes played the first round of this years Surface Unsigned Festival at The Flapper and Firkin in Birmingham last night and thanks to all your text votes and the guys that came down to cheer us on, the band has qualified for the second round in May.
So keep your eyes on the group page for more details closer to the gig.
But don't forget.........

WITH Space And Time marking this debut for this Nottingham quartet, it is a firm stride towards recognition that this band certainly deserve, having been together only a mere twelve months, this four piece are already generating excitement.

We start the year with some fantastic news! We're pleased to announce Calling for Heroes have secured an official worldwide release of the debut EP "Space and Time" - due to be released on Monday 26th January 2009.

Please vote for us in the 2009 Surface unsigned festival We will be taking part in the first round on Saturday March 7th 2009 at the Flapper in Birmingham. Tickets cost £6 and available from us - drop us a line if you want some!
